Adult Sunday School

Adult Sunday School

Glen Oak offers adult classes regularly on Sunday mornings beginning at 9:15 AM prior to our 10:30 AM worship service. Additional classes are offered from time to time with different venues which may include small group studies within a member's home.

Our primary focus is on Bible studies which strive to extract the true meaning of scripture for us today.  We do this within a non-judgmental environment, where everyone is encouraged, although not required, to participate, and everyone's contributions are respected.  Our emphasis is on scripture; however, we strive to understand those teachings within the context of the audience to which the scripture was originally written, and the circumstances and objectives of the Biblical authors.

At other times, the emphasis may be on the application of Biblical lessons in a way which helps us with the challenges of everyday life and leads us towards a life that matters for us today.

Ultimately, we believe that everyone's faith journey is a work in progress.  We welcome the opportunity to assist each other on our journeys.

Youth Sunday School

Youth Sunday School

Our junior high and high school youth will meet every Sunday morning from 9:15-10:30. It is a time for teenagers to come together to build meaningful connections, share their joys and struggles, and grow in their faith journey. We will explore relevant topics, discuss challenging questions, and seek guidance from scripture and trusted adults. And of course, we will have fun along the way!

Children’s Sunday School

Children’s Sunday School

Sunday School for children age 3 yrs old through 5th grade meets every Sunday morning from 9:15-10:15. In Sunday School, children lay the foundation for faith development as they hear stories from scripture and learn about God while they are experiencing the presence of God. They are invited to enter into Bible stories through imagination, wondering, drama, crafts and play.

Small Groups

Small Groups

As Disciples of Christ, we hold the centrality of scripture, recognizing that each person has the freedom – and the responsibility – to study God’s Word within the community of the church. It is important to us to offer that opportunity.

  • Small group Bible Studies are offered annually during the seasons of Advent and Lent. (See below for current offerings.)

  • Keep an eye on the event page for any upcoming Bible Study/discussion group opportunities.
